March 2013 Favourites!

Hey everyone, welcome back! I bet your thinking its only been a week since your last post... but as it's the Easter holidays, I'm taking as break from school work and focusing on my blog. I started the year with a Monthly Favourites post, however i didn't manage keep it up,but now i do promise that they will be a regular occurrence! So, lets jump right in...

Essie Nail Polish in 'Lights'
This was my first nail polish from Essie and is definitely the best one i own. It is a bright, neon pink with bluey undertones. I find that all Essie polishes last about 5 days- complete with a base and top coat, which is great for me because it means i don't have to re-do it all the time or spend a long time painting them and then find it chips the next day. I also find that the nail polish is fast drying and very pigmented meaning i only need one coat of it.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails base coat (Boots- £4.75)
Keeping with the topic of nails, i have been loving this base coat from Sally Hansen over the past month. Previously i found that certain nail polishes stained my nails, which made my nails look terrible. Also, the tips of my nails peel, meaning i can't grow them very long. However, i found that this nail polish stops that, meaning I love it!

L'oreal Paris Studio line- Silk and Gloss Hot Straight spray (Boots- £3.56)
I bought this product from Boots about 6 months about but at the time i decided to try and use less heat on my hair. This meant i just let my hair air dry and resulted in me not straighting my hair anymore. However over the winter, i found my hair went frizzy if i just left it dry naturally so i have resorted back to my straighteners. And to protect my hair, i tried this product properly for the first time and it really makes a difference! I spray it all over my hair just before I straighten it and when I'm done, it leaves it very soft and sooth. It's just a bonus that it protects my hair!

Garnier Simple Essentials 2 in 1 Make-up remover (Boots- £2.99)
As i am getting older, I was starting to notice that using Simple face wipes didn't remover all of my make-up and i found that if i wasn't going in the shower afterwards, my waterproof make-up would be left on my skin. So i decided to try a different make-up remover that was still affordable. I found this one by Garnier in Asda last month and find it works with my skin really well. It easily removes my mascara and other tough make-up and I don't think i would go back to make-up remover wipes.

That's all for my March 2013 Favourites, i hope you enjoyed eventhough it was a long one! If you have any questions about the products just leave a comment below. Also, if you have any suggestions that you think i will like, leave a comment!

Tangle Teezer- Salon Elite

Hi everyone, i know it has been a while since I posted but don't worry I haven’t given up yet! As I am in Year 10 at school, 14-15 years old, I have been really busy with school stuff. Before we broke up for the Easter holidays, I had some end of term exams and needed to complete my English coursework folder! I can say it was very stressful! So… this break is defo needed.

A few weeks ago, I decided to purchase a Tangle Teezer. This was after both researching it online and watching multiple videos on YouTube- including videos from Zoella which included many positive reviews of the product. As my hair is medium-long and thick, I thought it would make removing tangles and just generally combing my hair a lot easier. I also thought it wouldn't damage my hair as a normal brush would, keeping my hair in better condition.

So, I decided to have a look in Boots next time I was out as I thought they were a great idea. But, for me, I thought that £10.99 for a hair brush/comb that I didn't know would actually work on my hair was quite expensive (I know... stingy haha.) However, after mentioning it to my hairdresser, she managed to get me the Salon Elite edition for a fraction of the price and I love it!
Now, after seeing how good they are, I would definitely pay full price for one. I really recommend them, it removes tangles from my hair smoothly and doesn’t hurt my scalp. Also, I can use it on wet hair and it doesn’t damage it as much as the brush I was using previously due to the style/type of bristles.
If you were thinking of buying one and you have similar hair to me, I really recommend that you do!

January Favourites!

So... the first month of 2013 is over and we're well into February!

For my second blog post, I thought that I would make my very first monthly favourites! As these are very popular on both Youtube and Blogs, I thought it would be best if I started here...

Every month I will be posting about my favourite products I have discovered/used that month. Whether they are beauty related or even a film I really liked. I hope you enjoy!

Vera Wang- Princess Night

I got this fragrance for Christmas and I LOVE it! The bottle is beautiful- there's no such thing as too many sparkles! It sits on my dresser perfectly. Also, the smell is delicious... "with first impressions of luscious wild berries and watermelon, blended with sweet raspberry...". You should defiantly try it next time your out!

Sally Hansen- Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat

When I paint my nails, I always find that if I use too thick of a coat, it will take ages to dry or sometimes won't even harden. This means I have to take it off and try with another colour. Also, if they do ages to dry, they always look good for the first day but then as soon as I get ready for school they chip. This means it is always a right faff if i want to paint them.

After my friend bought this earlier in the month and raved about it, I thought I would try the Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat by Sally Hansen. I love it! You have to paint your nails, wait for a few minutes... then apply the topcoat. After waiting a few more minutes, your nails are completely dry! It's amazinggggg!!!

Collection 2000- Lasting Perfection Concealer

Now... if you read many beauty blogs or watch beauty related videos, you will defiantly know what this it! Due to a combination of its cheap price and amazing coverage... it is a concealer that has been raved about by many. For £4.19 (depending on where you buy it) this concealer is a miracle! I now use it in my every day make up routine as it can cover any types of blemishes or dark under eye circles.

Simple- Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

So, I find that my skin is combination as I have an oily T-Zone but the rest of my face can get quite dry. However, if I use a heavy/ regular moisturiser, i find that my face comes out in spots under the skin. This means that it was hard for me to use a one that wouldn't annoy my sensitive skin. But, I came across this "light moisturiser" in Primark for only £1! It works really well. It adds moisture to my skin without making it oily. I've already bought another one in case i run out!

Strawberry Body Butter- The Body Shop

The Body Shop is well known for its amazing body butters, their creamy and hydrating formula. I had always wanted to try them as me and my friends would always go in and look at them all... weird i know... But the thing that put us off was the price, at £13 we wouldn't buy one, especially because we didn't know how good they were. But one day when we were in town, I noticed they were selling them for roughly half price! I decided to buy one as I had been wanting it for ages and I am really happy I did! They are amazing and I defiantly recommend you going to have a look at them. My favourite is the strawberry one... they soothe your legs really well after they have been shaved and smell delicious!

Calvin Klein Nail Polish- Madly Mauve

Finally, I have a beauty product from Calvin Klein. A nail polish... I found this at a small barrel in a shopping centre for only £1.99. I first of all thought the colour was amazing! And you couldn't go wrong for the price. When I got home and tried it, I decided it was defiantly worth it. After a few coats, you uncover a blue shimmer in a plum coloured base... creating the most beautiful colour. It lasts for about 5 days which is good as mine normally chips in 2-3 days. If you see it you should definatly pick it up.

So... there is my first monthly favourites post. Sorry it's late, I've been really busy a school and never had the time to finish it. But it's here now! Comment below if you felt the same way about a product as i did and have any questions... or if you have any good recommendations- I'm always up for trying new products!
